The thought behind this class is to get you comfortable using paintstiks and stencils.Â You will learn a variety of simple techniques using different types of stencils, paintstiks and brushes on fabrics.Â Â Â We will discuss the care and use of Paintstiks. Explore the differences between Matte and Iridescent Paintstiks.Â Discover how helpful primers and blenders can be.Â We are going to get out our paintstiks to learn, play and create. Experimentation is encouraged.
Please wear clothing you donâ€™t mind getting paint on.
*Paintstiks â€“ a minimum of 3 colors
*Brushes â€“ a minimum of 3 brushes, I recommend 2 Paintstik brushes (short stubby) and 1 Stencil brushes (a bit longer and softer).
*Stencils â€“ one Art Stencil minimum (stencils for marking quilting lines do not work very well).
*Fabric â€“ Minimum of 8 pieces, no smaller than 14â€ x 14â€.Â Please pre-wash using a non-detergent soap (I use Synthrapol).Â Â Cotton – darks and lights, with a pattern or without.Â Optional Fabrics â€“ Silk, Silk/Cotton, Rayon, Wool, Velvet (low nap is better).Â Â Must be able to heat set all fabrics.
