If you are wonder what I have been up to. this is just a small portion of the fabric I have been Hand Dying. I’m not sure how much I have done total in the last month. My best guess is around 200 yards and counting. I will start Marbling soon, I’ll keep you posted on new colors, as I always have new ideas.
Every Spring I am excited to see what is happening with my Lupine patch. i am happy to say that the patch has grown and expanded. What started out as a 2′ x 4′ strip has gotten to 15′ x 20′ are so. I love to walk through them, currently a little caution is in order as the bees are everywhere and that is good news.
I’m still pinching myself. I was invited to participate in this exhibit at the Art museum of Greater Lafayette, IN. Here is what they have to say about the exhibit, ” This is a fabulous collection of work that celebrates the imagination by showcasing splendid crafts from invited, nationally renowned artisans. The works are creative and innovate in form and materials, including, glass, metal, fiber, wood and clay. These objects were chosen because they delight the eye and satisfy the soul. We sought uncommon beauty and good design in common objects. All works will be for sale”. I’m still a bit stunned. The exhibit runs through September 8, 2011, located at 102 South Tenth Street, Lafayette, IN. If you are in the area I would encourage you to take it in. Selections of my Hand Marbled Fabrics are on display.
